Jets Sign Receiver Austin Hill, Release Kicker Andrew Furney

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — The New York Jets have signed wide receiver Austin Hill and released kicker Andrew Furney, one day before the team reports for training camp.

Hill was signed by Oakland as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Arizona in May, but released two weeks later. He had 49 catches for 635 yards and four touchdowns last year after missing the 2013 season with a knee injury.

Furney spent last summer with the Jets, and kicked a 51-yard game-winning field goal in New York's preseason opening win over Indianapolis. He was cut after training camp, but re-signed to a reserve-future contract last December. The move Tuesday leaves veteran Nick Folk as the only kicker on the Jets' roster.
