Jets Say Corner Walls Will Not Play Against Steelers; Smith To Back Up Vick

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — New York Jets cornerback Darrin Walls has been ruled out for the team's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers because of a calf injury.

Walls didn't practice all week and will miss his second straight game. He had started seven of the Jets' previous eight games before the injury.

Rex Ryan said Friday that Phillip Adams likely will start at cornerback, possibly opposite Marcus Williams, who started last week at Kansas City. Antonio Allen, who started seven games at cornerback, has been moved back to safety.

Wide receiver Jeremy Kerley missed a second day of practice to attend to a personal matter but will play Sunday.

Ryan said Geno Smith will be active and serve as Michael Vick's backup after the second-year quarterback sat last week with a sore right shoulder.
