Jets Place Rookie WR Shaquelle Evans On Season-Ending IR
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — He's officially done for the year.
The New York Jets have placed rookie wide receiver Shaquelle Evans on season-ending injured reserve after he underwent shoulder surgery Tuesday.
The fourth-round draft pick out of UCLA missed most of training camp after injuring a shoulder that caused him to sit out practice on Aug. 1.
Coach Rex Ryan said a few days later that the shoulder "looks pretty bad" and Evans never fully returned to practice.
Going under the knife today. Praying for a speedy recovery! #prayforme #minorsetbackforamajorcomeback
