Jets' Mangold Wears NYPD Cap In Tribute To Slain Officers
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The New York Jets and center Nick Mangold paid tribute on Sunday to two uniformed policemen ambushed and executed in Brooklyn.
Mangold entered MetLife Stadium for the game against the New England Patriots wearing an NYPD cap. He kept the hat on in the tunnel before introductions and held it over his heart during the national anthem.
The Jets held a moment of silence before the 17-16 loss.
The officers, Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos, were shot dead in their patrol car on Saturday. The suspect then turned the gun on himself in a nearby subway station.

Mangold was carted off the field with an ankle injury in the second quarter.
New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin also honored the slain police officers during Sunday's game against the Rams in St. Louis.
