Jets' Goodson Pleads Not Guilty, Reportedly Rejects Deal In Weapons Case

MORRISTOWN, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — New York Jets running back Mike Goodson has pleaded not guilty to weapons possession charges in New Jersey.

Morris County prosecutors say Goodson entered the pleas during a brief appearance Wednesday in state Superior Court.

Goodson pleaded not guilty to second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a prohibited weapon.

He also turned down a plea deal, according to the New York Daily News. The deal would have resulted in a one-year sentence, the paper reported.

Goodson and another man were arrested in May after state police stopped the sports utility vehicle they were in on Interstate 80. Authorities have said both men were intoxicated and Goodson was carrying marijuana.
