Report: Jets Place Milliner On Injured Reserve/Designated To Return
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Jets will begin the 2015 season in a familiar position: They won't be counting on Dee Milliner.
The Jets' cornerback, who was the ninth overall pick in the 2013 draft, was placed on injured reserve/designated to return Sunday, ESPN reported.
Milliner underwent wrist surgery Aug. 7 after suffering an injury in training camp.
While the vast majority of players sent to I.R. miss the remainder of the season, each team may designate one player to return during the season. Milliner will be eligible to play again in Week 9.
At the time of his injury, the team said the former Alabama star would miss six to eight weeks.
Last season, Milliner played in just three games. He sprained an ankle in training camp, causing him to miss the season opener. In Week 6, he suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon tear.
