Jersey City Fire Department Fines Man For False Fire Alarm Calls

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (CBSNewYork) – The Jersey City Fire Department slapped thousands of dollars in fined on a man accused of making more than a dozen false fire alarm calls.

Between April and November 2013, the fire department responded to 14 fires, all of which were fake CBS2 reported.

The fire department said 33-year-old Vincent Garrison made the calls, resulting in him being fined $13,500.

The money will go toward firefighter training costs and the purchasing of new equipment.
