5 People Injured After Multiple Homes Catch Fire In Jersey City

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Five people, including a child, have been injured in a fire in Jersey City.

Crews were called to the scene at 33 Irving Street shortly after 4 a.m. Thursday. Residents were evacuated as the blaze spread to several adjacent homes.

"Five civilian injuries, taken to Jersey Medical," Jersey City Fire Deputy Chief Darren Rivers said. "One child with burns to their arms and a female adult with burns to her face, I believe."

The other three injured people suffered from smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire hasn't been determined
