Jay Z Mistakes Wells For Schilling, Asks About Bloody Sock

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Jay Z made the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can. But his game still needs work.

Here's a great tidbit from Sunday's SNL 40 after-party, courtesy David Cone: the rap mogul approached ex-Bomber David Wells and asked him about the whole bloody sock thing.

Except it was former Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling who gutted out Game 6 of the 2004 ALCS -- against the Yankees -- with blood soaking his sock from sutures that were basically holding his ankle together. And he looks nothing like Wells. Not even close.

Wells, who had a perfect game for the Yankees, tweeted that Jay Z was "still one cool dude."

Schilling reacted differently after being mistaken for the stout, bald former Yankee.
