Jay Z Mistakes Wells For Schilling, Asks About Bloody Sock
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Jay Z made the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can. But his game still needs work.
Here's a great tidbit from Sunday's SNL 40 after-party, courtesy David Cone: the rap mogul approached ex-Bomber David Wells and asked him about the whole bloody sock thing.
Except it was former Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling who gutted out Game 6 of the 2004 ALCS -- against the Yankees -- with blood soaking his sock from sutures that were basically holding his ankle together. And he looks nothing like Wells. Not even close.
Funniest story of the afterparty was when Jay Z thought @BoomerWells33 was Curt Shilling

and asked him about bloody sock
Wells, who had a perfect game for the Yankees, tweeted that Jay Z was "still one cool dude."
@dcone36 im still in shock.

Schilling reacted differently after being mistaken for the stout, bald former Yankee.
@TylerDNorton @dcone36 @BoomerWells33 Ouch....
