All Lanes Of Cross Bronx Expressway Reopened Following Jackknifed Truck, Fuel Spill

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – All lanes of the Cross Bronx Expressway have been reopened after a jackknifed truck and fuel spill made a mess of the westbound lanes just before Jerome Avenue Wednesday morning.

The fire department was tending to the fuel spill early Wednesday morning, Jim Smith in Chopper2 reported.

From Chopper2, bumper-to-bumper traffic was seen.

For motorists traveling on the eastbound side of expressway, two lanes were blocked off, however traffic began to move through.

The accident caused heavy southbound traffic on the Major Deegan Expressway and Bronx River Parkway.

Delays stretched back to the George Washington Bridge, CBS2's Alex Denis reported.

Denis reported drivers should expect a 30-40 minute wait at the tolls.
