Report: Special counsel investigating former president Donald Trump subpoenas Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner
NEW YORK -- Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner have been subpoenaed by the prosecutor investigating the Jan. 6 attacks on the United States Capitol, according to the New York Times.
Special Counsel Jack Smith wants the two to testify before a federal grand jury.
The special counsel is looking into former president Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
Investigators also want to know what role Trump might have played leading to the deadly attack on the Capitol.
Former vice president Mike Pence was also subpoenaed, but Pence plans to fight it.
