Islanders Sign Forward Steve Bernier To Professional Tryout

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — The New York Islanders signed forward Steve Bernier to a professional tryout Wednesday.

The 30-year-old Bernier had 16 goals and 16 assists in 67 games last season for the New Jersey Devils.

Bernier has 104 goals and 120 assists in 609 regular-season games with the Devils, Florida, Vancouver, Buffalo and San Jose. The Quebec City native has nine goals and 14 assists in 68 playoff games.
