Cops Looking For Man Who Allegedly Stole Islanders Glove After Nassau Coliseum Finale

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for a man who they say stole an Islanders player's glove from the bench area at the end of the team's final game at Nassau Coliseum last month.

Police have released a photo of the suspect, who is seen holding a beer bottle with a navy blue and orange padded glove. He is described as white and having a beard. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, blue shirt and blue hat.

CBS2's Tony Aiello has learned the glove belonged to Isles veteran right wing Colin McDonald.

The Nassau County Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.

The Islanders, who are moving to Brooklyn's Barclays Center next season, were eliminated in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs by Washington on the road two days after the April 25 incident.

Fans were eager to take home keepsakes from Nassau Coliseum. After an April 19 playoff game, some fans stole seats, cushions and seat backs.
