Islanders Fans Bid Farewell To Nassau Coliseum At Last Regular Season Game In Uniondale

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – Saturday night marks the last regular season game for the Islanders at Nassau Coliseum before they move to Barclays Center next season.

Unlike the other New York teams, the Islanders is a franchise that belongs to Long Island

Fan Erin Ryan told WCBS 880's Peter Haskell she is going to miss them.

"It's great, it's the only team that's actually from Long Island and to lose that, even though they're not changing the name, it's not going to be the same," she said.

Bill Harris is a lifer.

"My father brought me to my first game here when I was a young kid, went to the all-star game here in '83 and I've been coming here ever since," Harris said.

The new digs at the Barclays Center are nicer, but most fans Haskell questioned don't expect to make the trip.
