Islanders, Boulton Agree On 1-Year, 2-Way Contract

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Islanders and veteran enforcer Eric Boulton have agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced Friday.

According to Newsday, the contract will pay Boulton $575,000 in the NHL and $150,000 with the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. He is guaranteed $200,000.

Boulton, who turns 40 next month, is entering his 22nd professional season and 16th year in the NHL.

He skated in just six contests last season due to a lower-body injury and has not played in more than 23 games since the 2011-12 season.

Boulton has also played for Buffalo, Winnipeg and New Jersey. In 654 career regular season games, he has 31 goals and 48 assists. His 1,421 career penalty minutes rank fifth among active players.
