Islanders Coach Jack Capuano Hit In Face By Puck During Game

In the NHL Playoffs, 'no pain, no gain' takes on an entirely new meaning. Players from both sides are banged up coming into games and leave them even more bruised and battered than they entered all to try and secure a win for their team.

Now normally, coaches are left out of the equation when it comes to enduring pain to notch a win, but during the Islanders 5-3 Game 1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning, Islanders coach Jack Capuano had to grit his teeth and tough it out through some pain as well after getting nailed in the face by a stray puck in the third period of play.

But, as NHLers tend to do, Capuano made it back onto the bench, injury and all.

Just a guess, but I'm sure Capuano would take several more pucks to the face if it means his team will continue to win in dominant fashion as they did last night.

Bryan Altman is, for some reason, an unabashed fan of the Rangers, Jets and Mets. If he absolutely had to pick a basketball team it would be the Knicks, but he'd gladly trade them for just one championship for any of his other three teams.
