Man Charged In Stabbing That Killed Inwood Barbershop Employee

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A suspect has been arrested and charged in a stabbing that killed an employee inside an Inwood barbershop this past weekend.

Danilo Lora, 59, was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon in the incident, police said.

Around 9:55 p.m. this past Sunday, police were called to 586 W. 207th St., near Vermilyea Avenue in the Upper Manhattan neighborhood.

Officers found Michael Hernandez, 26, at the scene with a stab wound to the chest, police said.

Police told CBS2 the stabbing happened inside a barbershop at the 207th Street address, and said the suspect stabbed Hernandez – a barbershop employee – after a quarrel.

Hernandez was pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital Center shortly after the stabbing, police said.
