Intrepid Hosts 4th Annual Space & Science Festival

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is hosting its four annual Space & Science Festival this weekend.

Former NASA astronaut Col. Pamela Melroy will speak at the event Sunday afternoon. She stopped by the CBS2 studios to discuss recent NASA developments -- the photos of Pluto and the discovery of a planet described as earth's cousin -- as well as her own experiences in space.

"It's amazing to fly in space," said Melroy, who was the second woman to command a space shuttle mission. "It's hard -- we don't actually have the words to describe what it's like to float around. You feel things, you see things that are completely different than we experience here on earth. It's amazing to look down at the earth and have that different perspective."
