NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Ready, set, shop! After the turkey and the sides, many will hit the stores for a little retail therapy this Thanksgiving.

Based on numbers from the National Retail Association, more than one-third of shoppers sought out deals on Thanksgiving Day last year.

Toys "R" Us, Walmart, Best Buy, Sears, and JC Penney are a few of the major retailers who plan to open again this Thanksgiving.

But with all those stores open and all those other shoppers to compete with, how do you get the best deals?
