Hundreds Gather At Israeli Consulate, Demand Release Of Kidnapped Teens

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- The desperate search for three missing Israeli teenagers sparked a rally on the East Side on Sunday.

Hundreds gathered outside of the Israeli consulate and called for the boys' safe return.

The teens were kidnapped over a week ago. Israel has blamed Hamas, however nobody has claimed responsibility.

"We're here today because three innocent children, including one U.S. citizen, have been kidnapped by terrorists and we're demanding, the international community demands that these terrorists return our children unscathed," Councilman David Greenfield said.

The teens were on their way home from a religious school when one of them called the police to say that they had been kidnapped.
