Hoboken's SantaCon Bar Crawl Returns With Vaccine Requirements In Place

HOBOKEN, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- SantaCon is coming to town in Hoboken.

With COVID-19 concerns, the city's mayor has issued executive action to keep Saturday's bar crawl as safe as possible.

All businesses are required to check patrons for proof of vaccination with a deadline for the shots dating back at least two weeks.

Police officers are also out making sure bars are following the rules.

Gov. Phil Murphy says more than 6,300 confirmed COVID cases were reported statewide Saturday, along with 33 deaths.

The rate of transmission in New Jersey stands at 1.21%. Any transmission rate above 1% indicates that the pandemic is expanding.
