Fire Breaks Out On Roof Of Building In Hoboken

HOBOKEN, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A fire erupted on the roof of an apartment building for senior citizens in Hoboken Saturday.

The fire broke out at around 5 p.m. at Marion Towers on First Street, CBS2 reported.

Thick, black smoke from the fire could be seen for miles.

Investigators say an air conditioning unit caught fire.

Workers had been doing construction on the roof, CBS2 reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
