Police: Brooklyn Man Arrested For Violent Hicksville Pawn Shop Robbery

HICKSVILLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - After more than a year, Nassau County Police have made an arrest in a violent pawn shop robbery in Hicksville.

Back on February 16, 2015, two men walked into Wall Street Gold Buyers on Old Country Road and acted as if they wanted to sell gold, police said.

One of the men then confronted the shop owner, a 55-year-old woman, and demanded gold and cash, police said.

She tried to run away and was pistol whipped, police said. Nonetheless she managed to leave the shop and call for help.

The duo stole more than $1,000 in cash and a watch before taking off, police said.

On Wednesday, police arrested Thomas Corrow of Brooklyn in connection with the robbery.

Corrow faces robbery and weapons charges.

Anyone with any additional information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls are kept confidential.
