NYC Cooling Centers Open As Heat Advisory Remains In Effect

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Temperatures are set to reach 90 degrees again Tuesday, marking an official heat wave.

A heat advisory remains in effect as the humidity will make it feel more like the mid to upper 90s.

CHECK: Forecast & Alerts

"As the heat wave continues, we urge people to stay safe," NYC Emergency Management Commissioner Joseph Esposito said in a statement. "Drink plenty of water, use air-conditioning or visit a cooling center, and avoid strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day."

If you need a place to cool off, there are cooling centers open across the city through Wednesday. To find one near you, call 311 or visit the NYC Cooling Center Finder at www.nyc.gov/beattheheat.
