Hazmat Crews Sent To Lower Manhattan For Flood Of Coolant Fluid

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Hazardous materials were on the scene Monday evening, after bright green coolant flooded the sidewalk in Lower Manhattan.

The liquid floed onto the sidewalk at South and Broad streets as of the 6 p.m. hour, CBS 2's Joe Biermann reported.

Biermann compared the appearance of the fluid to the fictional Ectoplasm seen in "Ghostbusters."

The flood was the result of a leak in the coolant system for the adjacent building, the FDNY told CBS 2.

It was not immediately learned what caused the leak.
