Man Falls To Death From Forklift In Hauppauge

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A man fell to his death from a forklift in Hauppauge, Long Island Friday police said.

Anthony Capogna, 64, was working on the platform of a forklift 10 feet high at Nature's Answer, at 85 Commerce Dr. in Hauppauge, when a second forklift bumped into the one he was on, Suffolk County police said.

Capogna, of Miller Place, fell to the ground and suffered a head injury, police said. He was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The incident was not believed to be of a criminal nature. An autopsy will be conducted by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's office, police said.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified.
