21 Injured In Harlem High-Rise Fire

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Twenty-one people were injured Monday evening when an extra-alarm fire broke out in a Harlem apartment building.

The fire was raging Monday evening in the building at 1350 Fifth Ave. at 113th Street, part of the Rev. Dr. Martin Lither King Jr. Towers development.

The FDNY told 1010 WINS 21 people were injured in the blaze.

Photos from the scene showed thick black smoke rising from the building where the fire started.

The fire started in a trash compactor and the victims all suffered minor injuries, 1010 WINS reported.
