Harlem Shooting Leaves 1 Man Dead, 1 Critically Wounded

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- One man was killed and another was critically wounded Wednesday night in a shooting in Harlem.

Police were called just after 8 p.m. after a report of gunshots at the southwest corner of 112th Street and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard, police said.

Officers found a 23-year-old man had been shot multiple times in his torso and once in his head. He was rushed to Mount Sinai St. Luke's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

A second man, 34, was wounded in his torso, and found his way to Harlem Hospital Center in a taxi he hailed, police said. He was listed in critical, but stable, condition, police said.

The identity of the man who was killed was not immediately released.

The investigation into the shooting continued early Thursday.
