Car Torched After Arsonist Lights Garbage On Fire In Harlem, Cops Say

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A search was on Tuesday, for an arsonist who set two fires in Harlem.

Responding officers found a torched car after police said someone set fire to a pile of trash on the sidewalk.

It happened early Tuesday morning, on Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard between 138th and 139th Streets.

Sources said the car belonged to an NYPD officer.

Police said a second rubbish fire, set around the same time near 146th Street, damaged an NYPD light tower.
