Handcuffed Parolee Captured After Brooklyn Escape

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The NYPD and Department of Corrections and Community Supervision have captured the parolee they say escaped custody Friday morning.

Hassan Brown was paroled last August after being sentenced for weapon charges.

Authorities went to East New York to take him into custody for a "delinquency apprehension."

Brown was placed in handcuffs at 185 Wortman Avenue at around 8 a.m., but managed to escape custody, officials said.

He was taken back into custody at approximately 12:30 p.m. at an apartment on Stanley Avenue.

He now faces additional charges of escape, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.
