Guard Jaren Sina, Seton Hall Part Ways

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Starting guard Jaren Sina is leaving Seton Hall's basketball team immediately.

Pirates coach Kevin Willard announced the move Wednesday, less than 24 hours after the Pirates lost their third straight game and for the sixth time in eight games.

Sina had started the first 23 games for Seton Hall (15-9, 5-7 Big East), but he came off the bench for the first time in an 86-67 loss to Georgetown on Tuesday at the Prudential Center, scoring 9 points in 29 minutes.

Willard after the game refused to discuss questions about chemistry issues between the players. He also didn't make his players available after the game.

In a statement issued by the university, Willard called Sina an "an outstanding young man."
