Police: Group Attacked Store Clerk, Stole Items From Bronx Deli

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a group of thieves who attacked a store clerk in the Bronx.

According to police, the group entered the deli and grocery store at 2039 Grand Concourse just before 11 p.m. on May 27 and started taking items from the shelves.

The suspects then tried to leave the store without paying but the store employee confronted them.

The suspects then ganged up on the employee, throwing items at him and punching him about his head and body.

Once outside, one of the suspects hit the employee on the head with an umbrella.

The group then fled the scene.
