Greenwich Considering Later School Start Times

GREENWICH, Conn. (CBSNewYork) -- Some Connecticut high school students may get to sleep in a bit more on school days.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that schools start at 8:30 a.m., recognizing that a teen's internal clock is not in sync with the sun, WCBS 880's Sean Adams reported.

In Greenwich, the school is studying options for a schedule change following an online survey that found 77 percent of students in eighth to 12th grades and 75 percent of parents support a later start. Forty-five percent of staff favor a change, and 20 percent were neutral.
