Gas Leak Forces Evacuation Of Several Brooklyn Buildings

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A report of a gas leak has prompted the evacuation of several buildings in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

At around 2 p.m., firefighters responded to Freeman Street due to an odor of gas in the area.

Three buildings on Freeman Street near Franklin Street have been evacuated.

High levels of gas were detected in the buildings, officials said.
