Greenburg Police Investigate Reports Of Man Following, Photographing Children

GREENBURGH, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Parents in a Westchester County town are being warned about a man reportedly following and photographing children.

Greenburgh police are investigating a handful of luring attempts last week.

Town Supervisor Paul Feiner said three children claimed a white man in his 60s slowly followed them on Stonewall Circle and started taking pictures of them after school last Thursday.

"That scared the children," Feiner said.

The man, who had white hair, a gray beard, and was wearing glasses, reportedly drove a white four-door sedan -- possibly a Honda -- with Connecticut plates, Feiner said..

In earlier incidents, a man fitting the same description was seen driving a white van with New York plates and following a juvenile, Greenburgh police said.

Feiner is urging parents to have a discussion with their children about stranger danger.

"They shouldn't walk alone, they should be careful, if they see anyone who is remotely suspicious they should alert the police," Feiner said.

Anyone with information can contact the Greenburgh Police Department at 914-989-1710.
