NYPD: Man Holds Knife To Taxi Driver, Steals Cash And Cab

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is looking for a suspect who threatened a taxicab driver at knife point before stealing the vehicle and stranding the driver on the side of the road.

On Nov. 5, a 44-year-old green New York City taxicab driver was driving the suspect, then a passenger, between Arnow Avenue and Gunther Avenue section of the Bronx, according to police.

While in transit, the suspect placed a knife up to the driver's side and demanded cash, as well as the driver's iPhone, according to police.

The driver complied and was then ordered out of the vehicle. The suspect drove away, headed towards the I95, according to police.

There were no reported injuries, police said.

Police are looking for a Green Toyota Camry License plate T636923C. The suspect is described as a male in his 30's, wearing a black hooded jacket.
