6 Injured In Crash On Grand Central Parkway In Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Six people were injured in a crash involving on the Grand Central Parkway Friday morning in Queens.

Two cars collided around 7 a.m. on the eastbound side of the parkway between Jewel Avenue and the Van Wyck Expressway.

The NYPD says one car, possibly going at a high rate of speed, rear-ended another car. Police say three people inside the second car were thrown to the road. Three others also suffered minor injuries.

The crash caused major traffic backups during the morning rush.
