Police ID 2 Men Killed In Crash On Grand Central Parkway In Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Authorities have released the identities of two men who were killed after their car hit a stopped truck on the Grand Central Parkway in Queens early Friday.

The accident occurred just after 2:30 a.m. in Astoria.

A 2014 black Hyundai Elantra smashed into the truck, which was stopped on the shoulder under the 31st Street overpass eastbound on the parkway, CBS2's Steve Langford reported.

CHECK TRAFFIC

Police said the two men inside the car -- Eran Felices, 32, of Queens and David Garcia, 36, of Manhattan -- were killed.

The driver of the truck was not seriously injured. He remained on the scene.

Traffic was being diverted onto Astoria Boulevard and then back onto the parkway for hours after the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
