Goodell Delivers Replacement Super Bowl Tickets To 2 Featured On CBS 2
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell met up with two very lucky ladies in Manhattan Saturday to hand over two Super Bowl tickets to replace the ones that were stolen from them.
Nicole Hill and Sarah Agerup appeared on CBS 2 Friday evening after they told meteorologist Lonnie Quinn in Times Square that Hill's wallet had been stolen en route from Seattle to New York City and the wallet had contained their Super Bowl tickets.
The pair had been walking around with a cardboard sign announcing their bad luck and gained the sympathy of not only New Yorkers, but also some powerful people in the NFL.
Commissioner Goodell said he saw the pair's plight on CBS 2 and wanted to do something special for them.
"I happened to be watching about 5:50 last night, your broadcast and the weather report from here. I saw the two girls and they said they lost their tickets. I called our guys I said, 'make sure you get something over to them,'" Goodell said.
The NFL says they get a lot of stories like these so to make sure it wasn't a hoax, officials verified the story.
On Saturday morning, Goodell himself delivered the replacement tickets to the women.
CBS 2's Lonnie Quinn and Jessica Schneider were with the pair for the big meeting with Goodell and accompanied them on a toboggan ride at Super Bowl Boulevard.
The NFL also gave Hill and Agerup red carpet admission to the NFL Honors at Radio City Musical Hall.
