Good Samaritan Stabbed After Stopping To Help Woman In Rutherford

RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- For one New Jersey college student, being a Good Samaritan came at a price.

On Friday night, the 20-year-old was driving through Rutherford when he spotted a woman who appeared to be in a fight with a man.

Police told The Record that when he approached the pair, the man pulled a knife and demanded his wallet and a gold necklace. They said the student was stabbed in the abdomen after he hesitated.

The woman and man both fled.

The victim was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
