SiriusXM Suspends Glenn Beck Following Trump Comments

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP)-- Conservative talk radio show host Glenn Beck has been suspended by SiriusXM satellite radio after he agreed with an author who suggested someone may have to "step up'' to stop Republican Donald Trump.

During an interview Wednesday, author Brad Thor said he was "about to suggest something very bad'' before asking hypothetically "what patriot will step up'' to remove Trump from office if he's elected president and oversteps his authority.

Beck responded, "I would agree with you on that.''

SiriusXM says in a statement the comments "may be reasonably construed by some to have been advocating harm against an individual currently running for office.'' It says Beck has been suspended for this week and his program's place in the lineup is being evaluated.

Representatives for Beck and Thor didn't immediately return requests for comment.
