Long Island Girl Scouts Use Leonardo DiCaprio To Market Cookies

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork)-- A group of Girl Scouts on Long Island are capitalizing on Leonardo DiCaprio's good looks and dietary habits to sell cookies.

Some creative Girl Scouts in Suffolk County created a poster featuring Leo munching on Girl Scout cookies at the Oscars.

"This is Leo. Leo wants an Oscar," the sign reads. "Leo buys Girl Scout Cookies at the awards. Leo wins an Oscar. Leo is smart. Be like Leo. Buy Girl Scout Cookies."

The sign plays off the popular "be like" meme that has recently taken the internet by storm.

Turns out the strategy worked, the girls said the catchy sign encouraged more people to stop and that they were able to go on from there and sell their cookies, as reported by TIME.
