Giants Receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Named PFWA Rookie Of The Year

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Did you expect anything different?

Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been named the Offensive Rookie of the Year by the Professional Football Writers of America.

The first-round pick out of LSU was brilliant in his first season with the G-Men. After missing the first four games due to injury, the 22-year-old caught 91 passes for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns in 12 games.

The playmaking wideout, who quickly became a sensation due to his acrobatic catches, had seven 100-plus yards games and four multiple-touchdown games.

Beckham Jr. is the first player in franchise history to be named Offensive Rookie of the Year.

St. Louis Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald was named Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Jets tight end Jace Amaro was selected to the All-Rookie Team along with Beckham Jr.
