Giants Re-Sign Veteran Tight End Daniel Fells

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Tight end Daniel Fells has re-signed with the New York Giants.

The eight-year veteran shared the position with Larry Donnell last season, playing in all 16 games. He had 16 receptions for 188 yards and a career-high four touchdowns.

The 31-year-old did not play in 2013, and said his return last year was "a big blessing. I wanted to be able to come back and prove I can still play this game."

He played his first three NFL seasons with the Rams, mostly as a backup. In 2011, Fells started 15 games for Denver. He joined New England the next year, but made only four catches.
