Giants Re-Sign Linebacker Mark Herzlich, Fullback Henry Hynoski

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — The New York Giants are bringing back a couple of role players, signing linebacker Mark Herzlich and fullback Henry Hynoski to two-year contracts.

The NFC East club announced the signing on its Twitter account on Wednesday, a day after it reached agreements with five players on the opening day of free agency.

Herzlich, 27, started 8 of 15 games last season and had a career-high 47 tackles. He also had four special teams tackles.

Hynoski, 26, started 4 of 16 games at fullback. His role was mainly as a blocker, carrying seven times for 13 yards.

Both were signed as free agents in 2011.

The Giants reached agreements with running back Shane Vereen, linebackers Jonathan Casillas and J.T. Thomas, offensive tackle Marshall Newhouse and returner-receiver Dwayne Harris on Tuesday.
