Giants Re-Sign Cornerback Chykie Brown, Offensive Lineman John Jerry

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Cornerback Chykie Brown and offensive lineman John Jerry are returning to the New York Giants.

The Giants announced the signings Monday after confirming late last week that the two had agreed to terms. Contract terms were not immediately available.

Signed as a free agent last season, Jerry started all 16 games at right guard. The move gives the Giants depth, with tackles Will Beatty and Justin Pugh returning along with guard Weston Richburg, who is moving to center, and guard Geoff Schwartz, who missed most of last season with a foot injury. New York also signed Canadian lineman Brett Jones.

Jerry has started 49 consecutive games in the NFL. He is entering his sixth season.

Brown, 28, was picked up off waivers from Baltimore in November and played in eight games, starting the last four. A fifth-round draft choice by the Ravens in 2011, he played 3 1/2 seasons in Baltimore before his release.
