Giants Re-Sign Kicker Chris Boswell With Josh Brown Hurt

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — The New York Giants have re-signed place-kicker Chris Boswell.

The Giants announced the move Wednesday, a day before their exhibition finale against the New England Patriots.

New York made the move because veteran Josh Brown bruised his leg two weeks ago when he made a tackle against Jacksonville.

Boswell was in the Giants' training camp until being waived on Aug. 16. The 24-year-old will play on Thursday.

The Giants had an available roster spot after cutting to 74 players on Tuesday, one below the league limit.
