Minor Injuries When Car Slams Into Building In Garden City, Long Island

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Minor injuries were reported Wednesday when a car slammed into a building in Garden City.

The car slammed into the building at 990 Franklin Ave. late Wednesday afternoon, Joe Biermann reported from Chopper 2.

The J. Barbera Tobacconist was located at the address, but a Yelp page and published reports indicated that the tobacconist went out of business some time ago.

The car went out of control and up on the sidewalk, and police were trying to back the car out, Biermann reported.

Police said there were minor injuries in the accident. It was not immediately clear how many people were injured.
