Garbine Muguruza Beats Serena Williams For Second Time In French Open

PARIS (AP) -- For the second time in two years, Garbine Muguruza  has beaten Serena Williams in the French Open. The difference this time is that the win came in the championship match. The score of the match was 7-5, 6-4.

The 22-year-old Spaniard claimed the title on her fifth match point after landing a lob on the baseline. The fourth-seeded Muguruza then put her face in her hands and fell on her back.

The loss puts an end, at least for now, to the record-tying bid by Williams to win a 22nd Grand Slam championship.

This was Muguruza's second major final as she lost to Williams at Wimbledon last year.
